IS there a demand for medical assistants in Louisiana?

I have a friend who is going to Career tech to be a medical assistant and shewanted to know if she will be able to find a job in louisiana after she graduates, and also how is the pay

    I can tell you this much. I graduated from college as a Medical Assistant in '86 back then and today the doctors were hiring off the street and paying minimum wage. They did not want to pay what a Medical Assistant is worth. In some states you do not have to be certified to be a Medical Assistant. The pay is not much more than minimum wage. If your friend was smart she would continue her education and just become a nurse, either an LPN or an RN.
